Gopher's Advanced Recon mods are brilliant, hard to ignore them, especially the detect traps perk. Other great quest mods are Saxxons Quest Collection by Saxxon91 and Badlands by achillesdave. The Someguy series (New Vegas Bounties 1,2 & 3 and The Inheritance) are a must have series of quest mods. Before you even start, do not play without Project Nevada, makes the game 10 times better in every conceivable way.
